There is much to celebrate in this Sonatina by this fine composer. Students and pianists of all ages will enjoy the uplifting and showy first movement, “A Festive Classic,” the laid-back and charming second movement, “Colors of Camellia,” and the energetic and “soaring” third and final movement, “Aviation Day!” Commissioned by the Wiregrass Music Teachers Forum of Southeast Alabama, the music captures some of the energy and spirit of that region in the U.S. All movements are in D Major, and the third movement is in 6/8 time. Late Intermediate.
