Bernhard Henrik Crusell (1775 - 1838) was one of the greates clarinet virtuosi performing at the beginning of the nineteenth century. The Concerto Op. 1 is thought to have been written in 1805. He dedicated it to Comte Gustave de Trolle-Bonde. The present edition ist the first since Crussel's day.
