From a slow rum bar rhythm gradually increasing a frenetic flamenco rumba develops, which abruptly breaks off at the climax. After a long silence, another form of dance - "Soleares" - begins; the word means loneliness, a loneliness that is equally longing, rebellion and submission to fate. The work ends with a "petenera", a dance with a traditional, unshakable rhythm. - The imagination should be played rhythmically with indomitable severity, which, however, must be imperceptible, since the performance should give the impression of great expressive freedom.
